Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to get my invitations?
Our design process begins with a complimentary consultation. After your consultation, we will begin designing your soft proof, which we will send to you via email. We will email correspond with you until all necessary adjustments are made.
Once your design is finalized and you have approved the soft proof, it will take approximately four weeks to create your invitations. This encompasses the time it takes for our supplier to create the pieces and ship the blank stock to us, for us to create a hard proof of your invitation. After you have approved your hard proof, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit. Then, we will order your stock and print and assemble your invitations by hand.
During rush seasons, particular papers, items and pieces can become backordered and require our supplier to make them by order, rather than have them in stock, ready to ship. This is particularly applicable to pocket invitations. If our supplier is making to order it typically takes 5-7 business days for them to produce the pieces, and then ship to us. Our standard shipping time is 4 days. We can rush ship items, but you will be responsible for any rush fees or additional shipping above the ground shipping fees.
We encourage you to begin the process at least six to eight weeks before you plan on mailing your invitations, or 3-4 months prior to your wedding.
How do you produce the invitations?
Most of our invitations are produced using a LED Laser Printer. This helps us speed up production by printing in-house and keep the costs lower than traditional commercial printing. We do however offer commercial printing, thermography, engraving and letterpress services to those who desire another print process. These services are additional and require extra production time.
Why are there variations in printing?
Due to the custom and hand-made nature of our products, there may be slight variations in each invitation. This is to be expected. Variations in tone and color may be produced, although our designers take great care to make sure that the overall quality remains constant.
Can I use a photo on my invitation?
Yes, there are several ways in which we can use photos in your invitation. Please make sure you have reproduction rights to your photographs. If you have utilized a professional photographer, they will give you a release for reproduction, either in full or limited for the use of your invitation.
- We can attach a photo to the face of the invitation: either you or we can get professional lab produced prints of your photo and attach it to your invitation.
- Or we can print your image on the face of the invitation. Option 2 is best produced with a black and white photo. Our laser ink is translucent, and will reflect the color of the base stock. Because of this, if you choose a colored background for the face of your invitation, we will typically require the print to be made on another piece of paper and attached.
What fees are associated with the production of my invitation?
Your initial consultation is complimentary. Should you require additional in-person consultations are $35 each. Each piece of paper is charged at a rate per type and size, and includes one side print. Envelopes printing is $0.25 per envelope for return address and a $35 set up fee for addressing to recipient. Three soft proof revisions are included in your paper price, additional revisions are charged at $35 per version. Additional fees may be charged at the discretion of White Peacock Productions, LLC.
